Danny DeVito and Billy Crystal are looking to reunite with a long-overdue sequel to Throw Momma From the Train.

By speaking with GQ, Danny DeVito was asked if there was anything in his career he wanted to revisit. Surprisingly, DeVito mentioned that he had been planning to reunite with Billy Crystal for some time. Throw mom off the train suite titled, you guessed it, Throw dad off the train. “Billy (Crystal) and I want to work together again,“, DeVito said. “We were considering possibly doing Throw dad off the train.» Crystal’s representative confirmed the news to Weekly Entertainment. “It’s true,“, the representative said. “They are still working on it.“

Throw mom off the train starred Billy Crystal as Larry, an author with a cruel ex-wife, Margaret (Kate Mulgrew), who teaches a writing workshop where Owen (Danny DeVito), one of his students, has had enough from his overbearing mother (Anne Ramsey). When Owen watches Alfred Hitchcock’s film Strangers on a trainhe decides to put the film’s plot into action and offers to kill Margaret, if Larry promises to murder his mother in return.

The film was Danny DeVito’s feature directorial debut and, although it received mixed reviews, it was a box office success. It also earned Anne Ramsey an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Owen’s mother.

Danny DeVito also mentioned that he wants to work with Arnold Schwarzenegger again and that the two have a project in the works that is not yet available.
