The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League is around the corner and Kolkata Knight Riders’ star batter Rinku Singh began his preparations. The aggressive middle-order hitter caught everyone’s attention after smashing five sixes in addition Yash Dayal against the Gujarat Titans. He went on to deliver many match-winning performances for KKR, which eventually paved his way into the Indian team. Rinku made his T20I debut against Ireland and has played 15 matches so far.

Rinku has gained huge popularity due to his extraordinary cricketing style and humble nature. Recently, KKR posted a video on its Instagram, showing many fans excitedly jumping and meeting Rinku during her training session.

In the video, many young fans were seen clicking pictures and taking autographs on the 26-year-old slugger’s neck and forehead.

In IPL 2023, Rinku played 14 matches and scored 474 runs with a strike rate of 149.53. His tally also includes four half-centuries.

In international cricket, he played 15 T20Is and scored 356 runs with two half-centuries to his name. Apart from this, he also played 2 matches in the ODI format, where he scored 55 runs.

Earlier, the former South Africa captain AB de Villiers praised Rinku, saying the batter is a match winner and his consistency is needed to win matches.

Speaking about Rinku on his YouTube channel, AB said: “Rinku is a fantastic player, a match winner, and it’s good to see him becoming consistent as well. You have to be a consistent player who always tries to win matches to your team.”

IPL 2024 will begin on March 22 with defending champions Chennai Super Kings taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opening match.

KKR will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in their campaign opener on March 23 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
