PM Modi meets Bill Gates and discussion on AI for public good takes center stage


New Delhi (India), March 1 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi and philanthropist Bill Gates held a dialogue focused on harnessing the power of artificial intelligence (AI) for the greater good of the public.

The leaders expressed their shared commitment to sectors that have the potential to improve the planet and uplift millions of people around the world.

“A wonderful meeting indeed! It’s always a pleasure to discuss sectors that will make our planet better and empower millions of people across the world,” PM Modi said in a message on X.

The two men also discussed PGD, women-led development. Microsoft co-founder Gates also emphasized learning lessons from India and spreading them across the world.

“It’s always inspiring to meet @narendramodi, and there was a lot to discuss. We talked about AI for public good; IPR; women-led development; innovation in agriculture , health and climate adaptation; and how we can learn lessons from India to the world,” Bill Gates posted on X.

Earlier, the philanthropist also met Foreign Minister S Jaishanakar. The two leaders, during their meeting, also exchanged books on Thursday.

In a post on X, Jaishankar shared a photo of him and Gates posing for a photo with their respective books.

“A great book exchange with @BillGates. And a great conversation,” Jaishankar wrote.

Bill Gates, who is visiting India, arrived in Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha, on Tuesday. (ANI)
