On CCTV, an instant explosion hits a popular cafe in Bengaluru

Hours after nine people were injured in a bomb blast at a Bangalore cafe, disturbing CCTV footage has been released showing a normally busy afternoon at the popular establishment followed by an explosion that left at least one woman lying on the ground and several other people running for shelter. their lives.

The blast, at Rameshwaram cafe in Bengaluru’s Kundalahalli, took place around 12:30 pm today and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah told reporters that an improvised explosive device (IED) was used in the attack.

A CCTV camera, placed above a counter in the cafe, captured the moments leading up to the explosion as well as its immediate aftermath. Customers can be seen waiting for a table and a waiter is about to place a plate on the counter when the explosion tears apart part of the cafe.

Debris falls from the ceiling, and as the smoke clears, a person can be seen falling as they try to walk away, while a woman lies on the ground. A little later, we see her turn around and try to get up, but without succeeding.

Another CCTV camera inside the cafe shows the counter of what appears to be an open kitchen and the restaurant’s waiting area. When the explosion occurs, customers and staff members behind the counter flee.

Anti-bomb squads as well as teams from the National Anti-Terrorism Investigation Agency and the forensic laboratory has reached the site. Before the chief minister said an IED was used, Bengaluru South BJP MP Tejasvi Surya had posted on clear case of a bomb explosion.

The injured are being treated at Brookfield Hospital in Bangalore and Karnataka Police Chief Alok Mohan said they were out of danger. Police have filed an FIR under the Anti-Terrorism Act, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Explosive Substances Act.
