Matthew Perry’s death certificate released
The official book has been closed on the shocking death of Matthew Perry.
As you probably already know, Perry was found dead in his spa on October 28; his body was discovered underwater by a housekeeper hours after the actor returned home from playing pickle ball.
The beloved Friends star had a long and outspoken history of substance abuse.
But the first results of the autopsy I found NO drugs in Perry’s system. at the time of his death.
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has released the actor’s official death certificate.
The document – obtained by E! News – states that Perry was buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles, near the Warner Bros. Studios lot. where he filmed the aforementioned NBC sitcom from 1994 to 2004.
The 54-year-old was buried in a private funeral on November 3.
That same certificate says Perry’s cause of death is still “delayed” after authorities said late last month that autopsy results were inconclusive and we were still awaiting a full toxicology report.
Finally, these documents list Perry’s date of death as October 28 at 4:17 p.m. at his residence in Pacific Palisades, outside of Los Angeles.
After the star’s housekeeper called 911, paramedics arrived on the scene… but were unable to revive the five-time Emmy nominee.
“A passerby had pulled the man’s head out of the water and brought him to the edge, then firefighters pulled him from the water when they arrived,” LAFD Capt. Erik Scott said on July 30. october.
“Unfortunately, a quick medical assessment revealed that the man had died before first responders arrived. »
There has been an overwhelming outpouring of sadness and support in the weeks following this tragedy.
In particular, the five main Friends co-stars released joint statement which reads:
“We are all completely devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just castmates. We are a family.
“There is so much to say, but for now, we are going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.”
The statement – signed by Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer – concluded:
“In time we will say more, as much as we can. For now, our thoughts and love are with Matty’s family, his friends and all those who loved him around the world.
In the meantime, according to various sources, Aniston was hit hardest by the loss by Perry.
Via the death certificate, authorities said there were no other significant conditions contributing to Perry’s death.
The document confirms that Perry never married, although he was engaged to manager and producer Molly Hurwitz from 2020 to 2021.
“No one in my adult life has had a more profound impact on me than Matthew Langford Perry,” Hurwitz wrote on Instagram.
“I have immense gratitude for that, for everything I learned from our relationship.”
