Josh Brolin breaks silence on Cable’s ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ absence

It looks like Josh Brolin won’t be returning as Cable for Deadpool and Wolverine. The actor responds jokingly when asked about his absence.

Many fans immediately noticed Cable’s absence in the first Deadpool and Wolverine trailer. Given the character’s important role in Deadpool 2 and his device being the catalyst for the film, it was shocking that Josh Brolin seemingly missed out on the next entry in the franchise. When asked if he was in the movie and why not if he wasn’t, Brolin threw a playful photo at Ryan Reynolds.

“No.” Brolin responded in a recent Collider interview before following up with “I don’t know. Because Ryan (Reynolds) doesn’t like me?

Even though there probably isn’t a REAL conflict between Josh Brolin and Ryan Reynolds, it’s likely fans won’t find out the real reason Cable isn’t there. Deadpool and Wolverine well after the film was released. It could be something as simple as scheduling constraints for a world-ending reveal. Either way, it’s clear that Brolin has no problem with projects, leading to his next role in From one part Two!

Who else is attached to the Deadpool trio?

Shawn Levy directs Deadpool and Wolverine after working with Ryan Reynolds on Free guy And The Adam Project. The upcoming Marvel Studios project also marks a reunion between Levy and Hugh Jackman as the two worked together on Real steel.

Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick develop the Deadpool and Wolverine script after writing the first two installments of the series. The Molyneux sisters worked on a first draft of the project.
