‘Ho Sakta Hai…’: Rohit Sharma’s first big official update on Hardik Pandya’s return to the Cricket World Cup | Cricket News

Hardik Pandya is a player who provides balance to the Indian cricket team like no other player. The first-class fast bowling all-rounder is a rare commodity in Indian cricket, and Hardik Pandya is one such player. He gave a good glimpse of himself in the 2023 Cricket World Cup matches he played before injury pushed him to the sidelines. Pandya had injured his left ankle while bowling alone during the match against Bangladesh in Pune on October 19. He missed the matches against New Zealand and England.

Captain of the Indian cricket team Rohit Sharmaduring the pre-match press conference ahead of the match against Sri Lanka in Mumbai on Thursday, said that Hardik Pandya would miss the match but also had some good news.

“Very positive development. I can’t call it rehabilitation, but whatever procedure he and the NCA had to undertake, they had positive results. He is not available for the next match. The injury is such as we have to monitor her every day. What is the recovery percentage, we have to monitor her batting and bowling load. We are looking at the World Cup where there are matches every three or four days.

Ho Sakta Hai, Jaisa unka chal raha hai, jald se jald dekhneka mauka milega (Maybe, the progress he’s making. We’ll be able to see that soon.)

According to a report by news agency PTI, Indian star Hardik Pandya, who is recovering from an ankle injury, is unlikely to return to action ahead of the team’s World Cup match against the Netherlands on November 12.

India’s final league match will be against Netherlands in Bangalore on November 12.

“It’s a minor tear. He is recovering well and it is likely that he will return for the final league match. There is also a possibility that he will play the semi-final straight away,” a BCCI source said.

With six wins in as many matches, India is on course to qualify for the semi-finals.

To compensate for Pandya’s all-round abilities, the team was forced to make two changes to the playing XI. In his absence, the management is playing with five bowlers with Suryakumar Yadav striking at six o’clock in his place.

“The medical team is looking into this and is also in close contact with Hardik and the NCA (National Cricket Academy). We hope to have an update in a few days,” Mhambrey had said on Sunday.

According to a BCCI press release, Pandya was supposed to join the team in Lucknow ahead of the England match, but he was not with the team.
