Hailsham murder investigation underway after man dies in suspected hit-and-run
East Sussex Police are treating the death of a man hit and killed by a car as murder.
The 24-year-old was hit by a black vehicle on Diplocks Walk in Hailsham at around 11pm on Saturday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
They said the victim’s next of kin had been informed and were receiving support from specially trained officers.
Sussex Police said “the vehicle and suspect remain outstanding at this time.”
Chief Inspector Andy Harbor said: “This is a rapidly evolving investigation and we are working around the clock to establish exactly what happened.
“There were a number of people in the area at the time of the incident, and I would urge anyone with information to come forward.”
They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who has footage captured on devices like a mobile phone, CCTV or dashcam.
“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this difficult time,” Mr. Harbor added.
