GW expert available: Iran elections take place on Friday

“Iran’s first elections since the 2022 nationwide anti-government protests will take place on Friday. There will be two separate ballots: one for members of Parliament and the other for members of the Assembly of Experts, who are responsible for appointing, dismissing and supervising Iran’s supreme leader, the most powerful figure and Commander-in-Chief of the country. The elections are seen as a crucial test to assess the legitimacy of the Islamic Republic regime.” (Via BBC News)
