Emotional final episode of Hairy Bikers airs after Dave Myers’ death

The final episode of Hairy Bikers has aired, following the death of star Dave Myers earlier this month.

Myers died at the age of 66 towards the end of February, less than two years after revealing his cancer diagnostic.

His death was announced by his co-star Si King, who said he was with him when he passed away.

But the couple’s final show had already been filmed, taking place while Myers was undergoing chemotherapy.

The BBC decided to continue airing the series as a tribute to Myers, as it began shortly before his death.

Tonight, the final episode of The Hairy Bikers Go West, aired in which the pair had one last meal together on the popular series.

They concocted a poached John Dory together, after their 1,046 km journey along the west coast of the United Kingdom.

Speaking afterwards, Myers said: “You know, I went through chemotherapy the whole time we were filming. It wasn’t easy, but we got there, you know. And it’s just a feeling wonderful. Being here today with you, you know, I wanted that.

“It’s a dream come true, Kingy. Who knows what the future holds? But for now, I’m living in the present, and it’s going pretty well, I tell you.”

Si said: “We planned to go West, buddy, and we made it happen. You know, I love him like family and a brother, but it’s… I’m just short of words. It’s quite remarkable what he did.

“It’s the reward for your hard work. Your will, your effort. It’s so good man.”

In a touching final scene of the series, the two cooks embraced and after the credits, a tribute was paid to Myers.

“We’ve been on the road for almost 20 years, whether around the Baltic or Africa, and we’ve always found something good. We’ve always found camaraderie and friendship around the table,” they said. in the last episode.
