Just one day later Cassie filed a complaint for sexual assault, abuse and trafficking trial against Diddythey decided to settle down.
According to NY Times, Cassie and Diddy announced the settlement on the evening of Friday, November 17. This comes after the “Official Singer” singer filed a lawsuit Thursday afternoon in New York under the city’s temporary “Adult Survivors Act,” which is set to expire on Nov. 23.
The 35-page filing accused Diddy of sexually assaulting Cassandra Ventura multiple times after allegedly coercing her into a relationship. Cassie said that during their relationship of more than ten years, Diddy physically assaulted her by severely hitting her in the presence of staff. She also accused him of forcing her to perform sexual acts with sex workers across state lines, while he allegedly watched, made demands, recorded and pleasured himself.

Cassie and Diddy release statements after settlement
Amidst the news of settle the lawsuitCassie and Diddy released statements via The New York Times.
“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably provided that I have some level of control,” Cassie told the New York Times in a statement. “I want to thank my family, fans and attorneys for their continued support.”
Diddy told the outlet via a statement:
“We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”
In an additional statement to The Shade Room, the producer’s attorney said the following:
“To be clear, the decision to settle a lawsuit, especially in 2023, is in no way an admission of wrongdoing. Mr. Combs’ decision to settle the lawsuit in no way calls into question his categorical denial of the claims. He is happy that they reached a mutual settlement and wishes Ms. Ventura the best.
It is unclear for exactly how much the two elders settled the lawsuit for.
However, after denying Cassie’s allegations, a lawyer for Diddy accused Cassie of wanting a “paycheck.”
“Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations,” Diddy’s attorney, Ben Brafman, said on November 16. “Over the past 6 months, Mr. Combs has been subjected to the persistent demand for $30 million of dollars from Ms. Ventura, under threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which was unequivocally dismissed as blatant blackmail.
Meanwhile, her lawyer, Douglas Wigdor, said Diddy once proposed to Cassie “eight figures to silence her and prevent the filing of” his trial. However, she had “rejected his efforts.”

Parties reached agreement following trending videos of past interactions
Hours before the parties reached an agreement, social media users took a close look at past content featuring Diddy and Cassie.
Diddy’s 2022 BET Lifetime Achievement Award acceptance speech became clear. Cassie had mentioned the speech in her lawsuit, claiming that Diddy thanked her for holding him in “dark times” when he was the one holding her back – in a negative way.
She described the “dark times” as “those she spent trapped by Mr. Combs in a cycle of abuse, violence and sex trafficking,” according to the file.
Another video that received particular attention Friday morning was an excerpt from a red carpet interview with the facilitators. In 2018, a Vogue reporter asked Cassie at the Met Gala to reveal a confession. She responded that she keeps “everything” inside her or between her and Diddy.
Video of ‘Me & U’ singer kissing husband Alex Fine after he would have run 50 miles supporting a domestic violence shelter also attracted viral attention.
Another resurfaced clip that shook the internet was of Yung Joc revealing the moment Diddy allegedly asked Cassie shaves her head – leading to the iconic hairstyle that dominated the early 2010s.
After Cassie filed her complaint, several other artists came forward to support her allegations, including Kid Cudi. He would have been confirmed through a spokesperson, her car blew up in her driveway shortly after alleged threats from Diddy — who was allegedly jealous of Cudi’s brief romance with Cassie.
Three out of five Dainty Kane band members, Aubrey O’Day, D. Woods, and Dawn Richard, have also publicly shown their support for Cassie.
