Britney Spears Deletes Apology to Justin Timberlake After Concert Comments

[ad_1]

Britney Spears appears to have slammed her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake after apologizing for things she wrote about him in her autobiography.

The 42-year-old singer initially shared a post on Instagram on Sunday, saying she was sorry if she had “offended any of the people I really care about” in her memoir, The Woman In Me.

The book, published in October, revealed that she had an abortion while dating the former NSYNC star.

Spears posted an apology with a clip of Justin Timberlake singing on Saturday Night Live, and added, “I also wanted to say that I’m in love with Justin Timberlake’s new song, ‘Selfish.’ It’s so good and how come every time I see Justin and Jimmy together, am I laughing so hard?”

She has since deleted the apology and accompanying messages after Timberlake appeared to respond during his concert in New York on Wednesday.

In a video recorded during his performance at Irving Plaza, Timberlake could be heard telling the crowd, “I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to absolutely no one.”

Spears deleted her apology and later appeared to respond to Timberlake in another post on Thursday.

It read: “Someone told me someone was talking about me in the street!!! Do you want to take it to court or are you going to go home crying to your mother like you did did it last time??? I’m not sorry!!!”

Spears was 17 when she started dating Timberlake in 1999 after they met at the Mickey Mouse Club, which was a launching pad for many celebrities, including Christina Aguilera and Ryan Gosling.

The couple was together until 2002.

In her memoir, Spears described the unplanned pregnancy as a “surprise.”

She wrote: “For me it wasn’t a tragedy. But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our life, that we were fine too young.

“If it had only been done by me alone, I never would have done it.”

She also described abortion as “one of the most distressing things I have ever experienced in my life.”

Timberlake’s response sparked backlash on social media from many of Spears’ fans, some of whom attempted to trend the hashtag “#canceljustintimberlake.”
