Billie Eilish is training artists like Taylor Swift for this “useless” practice! – Pérez Hilton

Billie Eilish throw down the gauntlet… just Taylor Swiftfeet it seems!

THE Why was I made the singer spoke to Billboard Thursday about all the work she does to keep her career eco-friendly, and in doing so, she couldn’t avoid calling out artists who do the opposite. Obviously she’s not reckless enough to drop names – that would be trash. But it’s impossible not to think of Taylor when certain transgressions are described.

When asked about using 100% recycled vinyl and biodegradable sugarcane shrink film to Happier than everit drags down artists who are not more attentive to their environmental impact:

“We live in a time where, for some reason, it’s very important for some artists to make all kinds of different vinyls and packaging… which increases sales and numbers and makes them more money and brings them more…”

The interviewer notes that “this counts for #1 albums.” Billie doesn’t have it. She leaves saying:

“I can’t even express to you how wasteful this is. It’s right in front of our eyes and people are getting away with it left and right, and I find that really frustrating as someone who’s really doing everything possible to be sustainable and do the best they can and try to involve everything the world. in my sustainability team.

This is where Tay’s speech comes in…

“And then some of the biggest artists in the world create 40 different vinyl packs that have a unique twist, just to entice you to keep buying more.” It’s so wasteful, and it’s irritating to me that we’re still at a point where you care so much about your numbers and making money — and it’s all your favorite artists doing that.

Artists who have made multiple versions of their latest releases include Beyonce, Olivia Rodrigo, Travis ScottAnd Blink-182.

But obviously, Taylor is the first name that comes to mind when it comes to multiple versions, right? It makes sense that she would offer her fans a curated experience, but it’s fair to say that it would only cost a small portion of the profits to do it in a more environmentally friendly way. Obviously Billie isn’t feeling the effects of this extra effort, is she?

Billie helped launch and fund REVERB Music decarbonization project. She partially fueled him Lollapalooza equipped with zero-emission batteries charged with solar energy, it has partnered with Nike To start using recycled materials and vegan nubuck leather, she is working to include water refill stations so fans can bring refillable bottles to her concerts to reduce plastic bottle waste.

THE Bad boy The singer says she’s struggled to make every possible change since the start of her career – and laments how difficult it is to convince most people:

“It’s a fucking never-ending fight. As we all know, it’s virtually impossible to force someone to care. All you can do is express and explain your beliefs, but many people don’t really understand the severity of the climate (crisis). And if they do, they’re like, “Well, what’s the point?” Either way, we’re all going to die. Believe me, I feel that way too. But “what’s the point” cuts both ways: “What’s the point?” I can do anything I want. Either way, we’re all going to die. Or: “What’s the point?” Might as well do the right thing while I’m here. It’s my point of view.

Condemn. We think the ball is in these other artists’ court.

What do you think of Billie’s statement? Is she calling Taylor specifically? Will the Swifties think so??
